RIDDLE ME THIS!
Question: Who was the first guest star to ever pop out of a window during one of Batman and Robin's famous "bat climbs"? >> Answer << |
The theme itself was composed by Neal Hefti and performed by his Orchestra & Chorus. Hefti was hired by show producer William Dozier to write and
record the theme for a network preview. Dozier had planned on having Hefti score the show as well, but when he got the green-light from the network to begin production on the show several months early, Hefti wasn't available. So even
though the theme recording used to open and close the show is Hefti and Orchestra, the score of the show (and of the BATMAN motion picture) was written by legendary composer Nelson Riddle and
performed by his Orchestra. The theme does have some horn embellishments added by Riddle's troupe to punctuate the POWs and ZAPs of the show's opening sequence. In the show's
third and final season, scoring duties were bestowed upon fellow bandleader, Billy May.
